Anyone remember those SG-Z basses that Gibson made a while ago? Those didn't go over too well.

I actually had a chance to demo one of these a few years ago, and liked it.

Why are they calling this an "SG Reissue" instead of a "EB-3 Reissue"?

Because they're trying to appeal to younger crowds that never heard of an EB-3, or EB-0 for that matter. I'd go for an EB-3L Reissue myself.

    Can't do 30". I've tried.

  9. I've been thinking about that Epiphone EB-3, I played one along with the short scale epi EB-0, And liked the 3 much better, I too, cant get used to the 30" scale.

I can play both 30" and 34" scale basses, and I owned an Epi EB-3, but sold it rather quickly. The neck dive was unbelievable. Putting a full-scale neck on a body designed for a short-scale was a big mistake. Sounded pretty good tho'.

You ain't kidding. But if you think a regular full scale neck on an SG body is bad, try one with 5 strings... worst... neck dive... ever. Everything else is Jake though.

Neck divey as a mofo but I loved this Epi EB-3L with Dark Stars...jury is out on the reissue.

  14. I bought an Epiphone EB-0 for my girlfriend, and I must say its very nice. I borrow it sometimes for band practice and stuff, and its surprising how good it sounds for a $200 bass. I hate the short scale, but otherwise its pretty awesome after you get it set up to suit you.

I'm not too crazy about it live. The pickups are great for recording though.

I've got an original that I had refinished in a cream color. Think AC/DC
