Names David schwab on Facebook
He's getting back into it
After doing a search on either name, nothing comes up in my Facebook. Oh well...
Here's a link: https://www.facebook.com/DHSchwab
It works for me.
No access/expired link
It works for me. He changed his cover photo on the 6th of November to what looks like a screenshot of a video of him backing up a female singer. He's playing some sort of Parker Fly-looking guitar.
Guitarist at Jezo and the Element
Luthier at Coney Island Guitars
Owner-Operator at SGD Lutherie
Owner-operator at Musician
Coney Island Guitars have zero online presence.
He doesn't even appear on Facebook.
I wonder if the people who are having success using the link above have the old page cached in their browser.
I can see his page, updated and current.
It seems like the link doesn't work if you aren't logged into a Facebook account.
Must be because I don’t have a Facebook account, and therefore am never authenticated.
www.sgd-lutherie.com now brings up a page with “Coney Island Guitars” splashed across it. Elsewhere on the site the “SGD” acronym has been replaced with a “CIG” acronym. But the products and the person behind them are the same. Last week the “About” page still had David’s picture and bio. Today they’re gone.
As long as he sets things right, or at the very least does no more harm, I wish him well.
I do also I really hope he makes some attempt to rectify his past customers.
He felt the need to rebrand his p/u's, safe to say he does not have good intentions. I find no reason to give him the benefit of the doubt. Just another scam.
I don't wish him (or most anyone else) harm...but, a good dose of karma I may enjoy a tad...
I really, really hope no one else gives him money. He will NEVER (please don't kid yourselves if you think otherwise) back fill the orders he promised to the the good folk he screwed over in the past.
I don't want to see anyone else get suckered by this snake. I have moved on, but my fear is that others may be suckered in by him and that doesn't sit well with me at all.
His rebranding suggests to me that he isn't interested in making good on his past mistakes, but rather to sucker anyone he can.
The site also advertises accepting PayPal, but says to shoot him an email for ordering details...
Just like the old time Snake Oil Salesman.
Once they've bilked everyone they can in one town, they move on to the next one and start over.
He just posted that he's going to be working for DiMarzio. I wonder if Larry is aware of the history.
