Question for all yo cueball headed bassers out there.

About a month or better ago, I got tired of my hair, thinning, and looking like crap in general. So, I shaved it. Now that the tan has evened itself out, I quite like it, and plan to stick with it, probably for life! Being a little chicken about it, I used clippers with a #3 attachment on it, and have since opted to go with no attachment at all.....leaves just a tad of stubble. The problem with this is, I have to do it about twice a week to keep it looking decent, and at that, it is very hard to tell myself if I have missed a part, other than the obvious front. I'm thinking it would be much easier, and look better to just shave it daily......

I tried using my razor on it once (mach 3), and it was very time consuming, and the feeling of it was just....wierd.

Has anyone tried using an electric shaver? Seems like this would be the easy route, and kinda idiot proof....with a rechargeable one, you could take it, and use anywhere.

Also, do any of you use aftershave, or any kind of lotions on it? I have fairly tough skin, I use nothing on my face afterwards........

PS, which do ya all think looks better, or the least of the worst? :D

i use an electric to trim up my hair in back when I cut my own hair. It's nie and smooth. Use a bit of lotion type aftershave on it, and you'll be just fine.

fiend, you cheated! I hadn't even posted the pics yet lol.

    Nick, thank ya!

Everone seems to like it, except the parents.....which is kinda to be expected I guess.

I argues with the lady about doing it for the better part of a year, and just decided to do it and face the consequences. Thankfully, she has come around to it.

Whoa....I look kinda.....SMUG in the second pic.

lol, dude....that is my long sleeve Nautica competition shirt, I had a reg T shirt on under it. I'll have you know I do not own A sweater, much less many sweaters that necessitates the use of an entire rack.......

    Wait a minute......

    nevermind

  13. Hmm...
Well, I've been cutting my own hair with a beard trimmer (yes. A beard trimmer.) for the past 2 years or so. I find it takes me about 10 minutes to do it myself, without a mirror. I usually don't miss any spots, all it really takes is a little bit of practice.

As for going all the way bald, I did that twice over spring semester, but I had a friend do it for me. I used her leg razor. With a new blade, of course. I was giong to compare it to a Mach 3, but I couldn't be bothered to have someone shave my head for me, and I'm not quite prepared to take a razor to my own head yet. I think the fact that I have no facial hair to shave and thus I have never used one of those things in my life has something to do with it...but I'm not sure. :p

  14. Every 2 weeks, I take the Mach 3 to my head! Trim it first with a regular set of electric hair clippers to get it to that stubbly length. Then foam up and use the Mach 3!

Grows back in over 2 weeks or so, but I can live with that. For my head I use a perfumeless Body Shop moisturiser - sometimes I use that on my face too, although I often just bunfg on some aftershave.

I have a goattee as well, which usually gets trimmed with a 7mm comb (#2 roughly)at the same time!

As to your new look - stick with it, it really suits you. As to doing it yourself, with practise you'll get the hang of it. You will get to feel the missed bits better, if not, get your lady to have a look over your noodle - that's what I did!

  15. I wanna have hair about the length it is now ("Army" trim) wiffle type thing....and a little, what I like to call "Flavor Saver" Goatee :)

if I get tired of it...I'll just shave 'er off...

I've been shaving my head daily for about 4 yrs now, and I wouldn't go back for nuthin'! Shaving daily in the shower was a pain for a while, but after a few weeks, it almost turned into a calming,Zen-like, meditative thing. I just turned 40 and have seen many older guys who looked great bald, so I'm in it for life.

  19. I shaved (clippers, no guard) my head on the 4th of July!!! I had hair down to my shoulders, and really curly. I also shaved my facial hair along with my head.

The great thing was that for two days, I would say hello to my friends and at least five of them said, "do I know you?" :D That was great! I agree that sunglasses do make a shaved head look 100 times cooler.

I plan to keep my hair short for a while, but not forever.
