I´ve "discovered" his work lately this year.
He was one of the most brilliant electric guitar players I´ve ever heard. He had the most amazing and efortless command of the instrument I´ve ever heard.
Besides he was a very intelligent and deep thinking human being.

    RIP Shawn.

  2. I didn't know who Shawn Lane was until I read his obituary, and found out that he was the guitarist with Black Oak Arkansas; this band I knew.

    R.I.P.

    Mike-
Lane was in an '80s version of BOA(basically vocalist Jim Dandy + younger players); a friend of mine also played keys/violin in that band with Shawn. My friend always said "There's no one else like Shawn".

Check out some of Lane's material with Jonas Hellborg & Jeff Sipe or Kofi Baker(Ginger's son).
Not for the faint of heart!
    ;)
