I bought this bass last November from the Bass Violin Shop in Greensboro, NC. It has a gorgeous tone and is a gorgeous instrument. It's in perfect condition and comes with an upgraded, padded bag and quiver. This is a great bass for portability or for a smaller person. I realized the viola was a better fit for me. Here is the manufacturer's description:

    Shen SB190 5/8 Hybrid

The 190 series is an advanced hybrid, with carved spruce top, solid willow ribs and a flat all-maple plywood back. The flat back provides great stability and a tight low punch, while the solid ribs and top provide the tonal character of a fully carved bass.
Unlike other fractional sized basses, our 5/8 is not an intermediate instrument. It has a full and complex tone, and is very easy to get around on. We are seeing them in the hands of soloists, and gigging players who want a serious bass in a very portable package.
The shorter string length and slightly smaller neck radius are very easy on the hands.
