She's Glossy! Nordstrand short scale six:

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Jim T., Apr 3, 2006.

  1. Hi guys and gals. My shorty is glossy. Finish pics on nordstrandguitars.com/new page if you're interested. I know I AM!:hyper:
(Sorry, I can't seem to copy and post 'em to add to my previous thread with the other pics.)

The top and back are definitely popping out very nicely!
  2. do you mean this one?

    if so, very nice :)
  3. Yes! That's the one. If you can, could you post the back pic also?
It's the Camphor Burl shot just below the ebony top pic.
Our 'puter is acting up apparently...:-(

Anyway, thanks for your effort and comment! Hey, I see that you have a bass built by "Hambone"! He was very helpful to me
when I solicited advice about experimenting with a short six.

That pic is strange, makes it look like that's the actual size, LOL! Nice axe though!
  5. Well...that kinda IS the actual size. It'll be a little larger than a Fender Stratocaster-it's a 30" scale...:bassist:
    Glad you like it though.
  6. sure

Yes, Hambone is the all-knowing Guru of woods, pickups, scale, or anything else bass. He really made me an excellent bass. I am planning on having him build me a 32" scale 6 string bass tuned E-F and trust me, it will rock...

    ...and roll

  10. Thanks superbassman! You're...well, super! I appreciate it!
Yes, I can attest that Carey's glossy finishes are sublime. (Sigh).

Hambone, direct me to some pics of your work would you?

That is seductive looking in a most "cute" way. :p

    Nice going.
  12. Well, I'm hoping it won't SOUND cute! Jack Bruce and Stanley Clarke don't so I woudn't mind sounding like they do with a short scale...:meh:
On the other hand, if it's short enough, I can sleep with it under my pillow and absorb their technique via osmosis! :D
  13. Sweet - I like the idea of that a lot. Can't wait to see the completed product.
  14. Me too! Hopefully this coming month.
Do a search under my name and there are more pics on other threads to see if you're interested.
