    Hey folks need some help,

I'm considering buying a bass from Bruce Johnson...
just the building costs are really expensive and in addition shipping them to Germany is an overkill! Are their any possibilities to spare the duty fees???
Thank you for your suggestions or for sharing your experiences.

Shipping to Poland is $150. You also have to pay duty customs + vat which is 25% of items value. You are obligated to pay these for all items which value is more than 45EUR. It doesn't matter whether it is marked as a gift, merchendise or something else. The only method is to underestimate item's value to pay less.
I bought Ampeg amp on eBay and seller marked it as a "gift" and didn't fill the place for item's value. Last week I got a formal letter from custom office that customs papers are filled incorrectly in order to avoid paying taxes, so I had to send them documents that defines item's value.
From the other hand prices in Europe are so high that it is still worthwhile to buy music gear in USA, pay for the shipping and pay all the duties.
