What is the typical size and weight to be used when calculating costs for shipping a bass with gig bag in a standard-sized bass cardboard shipping box?

About 20lbs is what I use. More if it comes with a hardcase. For size, I always use the Uline 20x8x50 inch boxes.

As far as size, most carriers want the actual dimensions of the parcel. Weight, I'd say 20-30 lbs. would be good, but some want the actual weight. I estimate on the high side since the shipping estimates usually run conservative.

Most basses I ship within the USA using UPS are in the $30-$40 range for standard delivery.
