Hoowee! You're in for some sticker shock. Depending on who ships (UPS charges the most) you've got Brokerage, Duty, and GST. I regularly have guitar parts sent to me here in Vancouver, and the last shipment I ordered cost me about $100 US. I paid almost $60 in fees when I picked it up. !!
I received quite a few bass parts last year, ~$500US. The only thing I paid was a $5 handling fee and the GST. Geoff
I guess it depends where you are. If you live in Vancouver, and you order stuff from NY, that'll be more expensive if you order it from Seattle. And vice versa
Yeah, And to agree with Geoff -it is a bit of a lottery, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. When Gary Willis sent me a pickup, it came through with no charge whatsoever.
Maybe shipping a whole bass is more expensive duty wise because it's considered a finished instrument, as opposed to shipping just parts? Mike J.
