Short, long scale strings

    Hello,
    I normaly use d'addario long scale strings on my musicman stingray 5 and fender jazz bass Marcus Miller,
    I recently buyed Short scale strings, could anybody explain me the difference before I open the package..

    They're for basses with shorter necks (usually 30" necks IIRC), they won't fit your basses, which are 34" longscale basses.
    So don't open the package and bring them back. Get longscale strings instead - they're far more common than shortscale strings.
    Maybe the vendor took is chance of getting rid of them...

    Mediumscale is 32" btw. There also are variations of longscale, being slightly longer or shorter, and also extra-longscale, 36".
