I was thinking about getting a Squire short scale Jaguar bass and fixing it up with a bunch of spare parts that have accumulated over the years as I have made various modifications to Jazz and Precision basses.

I have a D'marzio Jazz Bridge pickup, a D'marzio P pickup, an old Badass bridge and some nice Schaler clover leaf tuners.

My question is will these parts created for long scale basses work on short scale?

  3. Mod it, play it, record it, photograph it, and share 'em all here.

  4. Most likely yes. Some may need minor adjusting, or even possibly finangling.

I have Schallers which are licensed versions of the Dim's in my short scale Wartmouth P-J. They are perfect. I say do it to it!

Yes, VM Jaguar SS has standard size P and J pickups. I put EMG in mine, and it sounds great.
