Any recommendations for a short scale bass...?
The Ampeg Crystal Cut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Huh? Never heard of it...
You can't get much shorter than 18". Take a look at the DeArmond Ashbory.
I've got one right here, and they are cool. They have a very clean sound, which many people compare to an upright. It's fretless as well.
Guess I was looking for opinions on either Mustang (not the squire), Gibson non-reverse body (not the EB-whatever).
The Ampeg Crystal Cut is the wood version of the Dan Armstrong reissue. It has a Ducan "MM" style pickup with a series/parallel switch. It is a killer little (short scale) bass! Check Ebay....you can usually find them new in the $500 range. I have one of with the "purple bust" quited top that is awesome.
I really like my DeArmond Starfire, which can be found used for not a lot of money.
i'd agree with this - nice instrument....shame they're not making them any more
Dano Longhorn, best bass for the money. Light, cheap but GOOD!
