Shorting across input

Discussion in 'Effects [BG]' started by FunkThumb, Sep 20, 2002.

  1. i'm pretty sure this won't cause damage, but i though i wold ask JIC. Can i short across the input into an amp? the reason i want to know is i want to mute the output of the bass for tuning purposes.
    thanks.

  2. Yes, you can short the input. However, if you leave your bass connected, its output will be shorted too, and you won't be able to tune. This will not damage your bass, unless it is active.
