Should I cut my strings?

Discussion in 'Strings [BG]' started by Ulyanov, Dec 22, 2000.

  1. Hey
I'm getting a set of TI Jazz flats for christmas, yay, and I heard that since they have a round core, the outer wrap can slip easier. What I want to know is, should I just cut them and install them the way I'd do with any string, or are there any special precautions I should take? thanks.

  2. do a search on cutting strings at the top of the page there was a thread a while back on cutting strings, i remember that most votes leaned towards cutting but i don't no if that applies to your type of string but i am sure if you do a search you will find some info

I cut the TI flats, no problem. I didn't need to cut the E but the others are all cut.

  4. OK, thanks, MJB, that's all I needed to hear.
