Should I get it??? 78 Jazz.

  1. Hey! I really don't need another bass but someone has offerd me a Fender 78 Jazz ,,three bolt neck white neck binding/block inlay... you know what I am talking about.!.......its all stock except the pickups... It's in good to fair condition... he wants $750. for it.... What do you think???/. He's firm on the price. Should I go for it? I saw one just like it at GC, used of course...and they wanted $1250..:eek:

    If it's as you describe it, buy it. $750 seem like a real great price & even though I'm not in the market for a nother bass, I'd buy it. :)

    Sounds like a cool bass. Has he let you spend some quality time with it? Can you set the action where you like it? Would he be willing to take off the neck so you can see the dates? I'd go no higher than $750, as it lost some collector's value by not having stock pups. Does he have the originals? Bottom line is if you like it go for it!

    Doc, $750 nowadays is cheap even without stock pickups for a '78.
