What sound do you want, Steve Harris (flats and pick) or Geddy Lee (rounds)? Either will work, just listen to a few others and you'll get some ideas.

well i do worship Geddy Lee. What would Geddy Lee do?
  4. Adam, you need to experiment different brands, different gauges, until you find YOUR strings.

I personally love D'Addario Mediums flats, I also have Rotosound XL jazz flats, as well as DR rounds.

I don't play the rounds as much anymore, I like the D'Addarios better than the Rotos, but they are somewhat more expensive.

Order from if you want to save a few bucks.

Flats don't squeesh but lack a bit of a the sharpness of the rounds. I think Flats lack a bit longer, as they don't catch as much grime and grease from the fingers.

  6. +1.

Also, what are you currently using & what do you like & dislike about them?
