Should I recreate jaco's bass?

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Presto2112, Dec 20, 2013.

  1. I have a sunburst fretless jazz bass with artificial wear on it, it looks like jaco's but the fake wear looks like paint made to make it look like wear, should I relic it or not? I'm not a fan of relicing but the fake paint wear looks so bad, what should I do?

Sounds like you've already kinda talked yourself into it.

Why the hell not? Considering you already don't like the current state of it, what do you have to loose?
I say go for it, and post pics.
But you should REALLY study his bass and try hard to get it as accurate as possible.

It's been done, so know that, but I think your appreciate your bass better if you put your own work into it.

    Good luck.
