right now i have an eden 210xlt and an eden wt400. i want to make my rig just a bit bigger and better. if i upgrade to 4x10's i would like to get the 410xlt. but if not that what should i get that would be the best for the buck. i dont know if i should go for another 2x10 or something else. it doesnt have to be eden but it has to sound good i could use as much help as you can all give me. by the way i play a peavey cirrus 4 string and im in a few local bands and we play infront of anywhere inbetween 6 and 700 people thanks. chad
Why not get another 2x10? That way you could have one cab for those smaller gigs, and both for larger ones. Or even better, a 3x10 to go on the bottom. That's my current setup, a 2x10 for practice, the 3x10 for loud practice/small gigs, and both for playing out. You could sub in a 15 or 2x12 for the 3x10, but by your first post I sense that you like the punch of the 10's.
Eden speakers have a very high efficiency rating (from memory it 104dB at 1watt at 1 meter). If you mix it with another brand, the chances are that the eden will be louder even though it's receiveing the same number of watts. I'd only be looking at high efficiency cabs but to keep t simple, another Eden 2x10. I've seen guys use 2 Eden 2x10xlt's and it's plenty loud. It actually sounds different to an Eden 410 xlt. I've A/B tested the 2 setups and the 2 x 210 had ore bottom end. Don't ask me t explain how, but we all heard it........
i have an eden 400 anjd used a 210xlt as long as your cab is 8 ohms you can add almost any 8 ohm cabinet with it no matter what you use you will notice quite an increase in apparent volume i used a variety of 2 8 ohm cabs with my 400 and that is definitely the way to go of course................ you could always upgrade to a powerful power amp, which will really do your 201xlt more justice
i'd probably just get a 2nd of what you have (210xlt) for flexibility or if you're not set on the Eden tone, look at getting a lighter, efficient 4x10 like an Epifani ultra light ($1525/~60 lbs.) or even an Epifani 3x10 UL ($1375/~50 lbs).
