My 78 G3. I recently picked up a repro bridge cover to prevent slicing of the fingers when playing near the bridge. This bass really doesn't get enough playing time....

In use with my old band (running G3 > board > V4 > type85 > house). The beginning of this one is a great example of my ineptitude at playing my own songs....

  9. man, those are all beauties. i'd love to have a Ripper and/or a G3.

Here's mine. I don't know whether it's a '74 or '75, but it's definitely an early one. Gibson couldn't tell me. It has an original tort guard, and is completely stock. I had it refinished professionally (yeah, I know, ruining the resale value, etc.), and it's just a beast. I love it to death, and it plays/sounds amazing. A very underrated bass if you ask me.

Throbgod, what's the deal with the finish on your Grabber and what bridge do you have on there?
And where in Texas are you located?

Caught an old clip of ELO in concert back in '79, and the bassist was playing a G3. Would love to get one someday.
