i am buildin a P/J bass and wanted to check out ideas so show me pics of any basses you own with this setup. a quick rundown on the controls / pots that are used would be much appreciated. thanks
I guess this qualifies. The infamous Troll bass, it's a pos but I love it so... Two volumes and a tone. New jack for actives mounted on front in place of a original knob. It had some 'spector' labeled pickups stock, swapped for emg many years back. Troll
Here's my old '93 American Precision Deluxe Plus (I guess). It was my last 4-string ... I sold it to a friend.
what is that one Turock? looks like it gets around the pan pot issue via a pickup selector switch. yes? any 5 strings about? any actives? here's a couple of pics i have collected and can't remember where i got em from or any details so if they are yours give us the rundown. really like control layout details on the surf green one. can't work out if i can be asked making mine active or just goin for the old school passive that i love. still get that neorotic feeling i am just gonna think about putting in active until i do. know what i mean? G.A.S. - its like a fever
The Green one looks like a U-Retro deluxe (I'm 90% sure) The other is msellers Benavente 51. His is an Aero P/J set run passive with Vol - Vol - Tone. He runs it through an outboard pre (Sadowsky I believe). another guy here on TB has an active P/J Benavente 51 5 string... it's got a natural Black Limba body.
Yamaha BBX-4 ... This is a brand new bass that came from Tokyo, not available in the USA. It's exactly the same as the old 80's BB-1600. Bolt-on/Alder/Rosewood. Passive/Vol/Vol/Tone {} {}
Picture an Alverez, with transparent black paint job, 4 strings, 22 frets, and a p/j set-up. Good little bass, served me well for 2 years, though its time for an upgrade.
YEAAAAAAHHHH, anytime I get to show off gear I rejoice! {} Off to the left, I've better pics, but I don't feel like digging them out at the moment... Vol/3-way/tone Ray
