i am messing round with a franken fender design bass and just wondered what weird things fender have put out in their time. customs, signatures, 80s tastic future of no bass wonders etc most welcome. so post em! no Pbass or Jbass standards please (even though they are well cool obviously). cheers
How about the Fender Performer? Built in Japan during the 80s. I would love to find one of these in a cool color. {}
Here's the headstock from a FrankenFender I put together. I used a left handed Chandler neck and made the reverse logo.
that reverse headstock is way cool and to do the reverse logo - dedication! couple more "weird" fenders
Just a pic. There was a grren one at Bass Palace a couple of years ago and I really wanted to make an impulse buy, but there was no way.
What was that fender jazz bass called wtih 3 pickups? Not the urge but it had 1 in the front and 2 spaced out in the back.
What does T W I G stand f- uh, never mind. And Turock, I agree w/Vene-nemesis, at least on the Tobypro & Pilot- they may be sold by a company started by a man named Fender, but they AIN'T FENDERS.
The original poster asked for "weird things fender have put out in their time". The Heartfield and the DeArmond are both "things" from Fender. A fact is a fact, agree with whatever you want to, makes no difference.
