since getting my dingwall with the maple neck and matching headstock the look is really growing on me. Looking for more. Any brand, string configuration, and price is cool but big bonus for affordable but gig worthy 5 strings, I’m keeping an eye out for an affordable backup.

[ amazing that you built that yourself. Kind of reminds me of the acacia guitars single cut fan fret basses. Id love to get into building basses after I retire. Got a ways to go though. How did you start out? Building parts basses or learning under someone else?
I'm a trained metal machinist/engineer, just decided one day to build one myself, I never read any books or had any teaching for guitar building, just used my common engineering skills and insights and started building.
I wouldn’t call it super affordable but it’s a great bass Benavente Dcd 5 My stingray 5 hs was a great bass in pacific blue burst with a maple board and matching headstock but I don’t have any pics of it. They can be found used fairly “affordable”.
