Slab bodies. '51's, later year Precisions, OTF's (other than Fender), whatever.

I'm planning my next project and I'm looking for ideas.

    Love me some slab!

Here's Marilyn, a body [EM (Eddie Miller) NOV 7 51] that some knucklehead contoured, arm & belly, [although he did a good job, thank GOD!] on his own many moons ago. Added a baseball bat neck dated 11-55 and brought her back to life.

I still have my pair... plus added 2 more that could be considered slabs. No stinkin contours needed :)
    20150301-Wall.

It floors me how OLD the Benevente basses are... I got the white one is 2003 and the Burst in 2004, both ordered new! The other 2 are both 1983 Ibanez, the bass is an RB924 and the guitar an RS315 (I modded with an Esquire pickup)

Thanks! No, it's a mid 70's Gretsch I took from a TK300. It has a darker tone, with more throaty high mids, compared to a TV Jones Thunderblade of similar construction. Played it tonight and my bandmates commented more than a few times at it's commanding presence.

Oh, and I'm going to see Keef & the boys in Indy tomorrow too!

  14. The only Slab I own is a 2007 Dirnt, and it's actually a really good bass.

I'd post a pic but it's at my favorite keyboard player's house.

He's had it for about five years now...

    No biggie, it's a four string. :D
