That's really pretty stuff. I have to stop looking at these posts. I get too many ideas that always get me in trouble at home. Oh well some things never change! One more for the GAS list.

  4. Sorry about that Mike! This bass was going to get built one way or the other but I found talk bass and consequently this wood as a result of that. Now I am doomed to want more than I can have. Maybe I can move into a trailer for cheap and sell crack to pay for my GAS addiction! :D :D

*** does GAS or GAS'ing mean? i have a theory it has to do with gear envy right?

I am absolutely beaming for you. Its beautiful. OMG!!!How does she play? Is the thuya more on the reddish or darker side( color)? Bet ya cant keep yer eyes off. LOL!!!!!!!

  15. Average the first and last pic and that's what it looks like indoors. I don't know about good sunlight yet... but it's beautiful!

It plays wonderfull! The piezo's aren't quacky either. Sounds like a good mag pickup to me. I'm in love! Great sound and the feel is much different than I am used to. The strings are just barely off the pups so I have some adjusting to do but its a great warm sound. the mid freq selector makes going from rock to funk to slap easy!

What are the body and neck woods on that beauty, jay_t?

  17. The body is african mahogany and the neck woods are maple with wenge stringers.
