unable to post a pic, but i have two: a '96 legacy standard six with a one piece curly maple body in trans amber. and a '98 sonus custom six fretless w/lines with a quilted maple top in trans carribean blue. both super basses in every way. jeff

i'm in the process of making my own fretlai - it's ugly as all hell. and a rogue, and my first bass.

i spraypainted it pink, and defretted - now i just need to install new pups/pots

It's a really great piece of Bubinga. It's almost metallic/shiny under bright light like it's almost made out of foil or something. Very cool. In case yer curious, the first one (fretted) is a Redwood top. The figuring is not super tight, but I think it's still one of the best looking figured tops out there.

  13. Those are two beautiful instruments right there!

I'm still on the fence in regards to converting this to a fretless or trading it for one.

Hey Vics, have you had anyone ask you to leave your Sonus Special Fretless home?

I've worked with 3 different guitarists that have requested I not use mine...I think it threatens them, it's TOO present sounding...

    :ninja:

    ...TOO BAD!

    :spit:

    Damn, that bass sounds good!

Nope. Never. In fact, quite the opposite. But first, hey Gard, wassup! :).

Anyway, I play in mix classic/modern rock cover band... standard mix of stuff that sells... you know. Anyway, without telling anyone, when I first got the bass, I played a gig with it without telling anyone. I even slapped on it some (not that I'm any good at that, but I get away with what little slapping I can do). Here's the funny part... nobody noticed, but I got the usual complements on my tone at the end of the night! :D

NOTE: Hey, spend enough money on yer rig and you develop a tone rep... especially with the sound guys... no matter how much you suck as a player. ;)

Hmmm, don't tell me... these are the same guys who ask as in their loudest voice at the counter "where are the XXL rubbers, please?", right?

You are right about that Zon presence tho! Damn punchy. Prolly why I "got away with it". :)
