    Here's mine.
#1 is full sized, and here is a thread about it.
#2 Is a travel EUB I made this last august: 30" scale, 32" overall length, maple and padauk. Took around 7-8 hour to build it.

Also the fingerboards and necks on both basses are made from the same two pieces of wood.

  6. My long-running 5 string EUB project(2 of them actually)has a similar body to #1 above, but much less symetrical- kind of a singlecut. That travel bass is cool!

I've been thinking of doing something like this. What kind of tuning setup and strings are you using on it?

Bassteban, your a stay at home dad w/ a fresh $500 in your pocket. Your running out of excuses for not finishing these EUB's! :D

And let's see some more EUB's!

True, but the $500 paid back bank-of-old-lady-a(almost rhymes w/Bank-of-America)for Natrab's old D-180. I found some used strings(4- thanx, Basschair), but a matching new low B is gonna whack me for 70 bones! Then there's tuners, preamp, pickups... I just had to go 5 string...

    BTW, how's the bike?

Quick & dirty goes the tuning setup, but it works, so hey. Right now I have a real old set of cheap factory strings that came with my DB on it, they actually sound ok on this bass where as on my DB and other EUB they sounded like crap.

I still haven't found a pickup that I am happy with for this bass though, so far they all pickup to much playing noise. So I will probably have to either make a bridge with a built in pickup or go magnetic.

  12. here are some pictures of my first project. I love this thing.

    Bloodwood, maple, and ebony woods
    41.5 inch scale
K&K pure preamp that I had to rewire to fit
K&K double big twin pick-up mounted on the side and bottom of the bridge
    GOTOH Machine heads
    Pearl tom stand
    D'Addario hybrid strings
    high gloss tungoil finish
and lots of cutting, gluing, filing, and sanding you can't see.
*NEW* I just got done rearranging the piezo pups, 4 total. I put two on the bottom of the bridge and two on the sides of the bridge with a switch for each set. The ones on the bottom works best for pizz playing and the ones on the sides works best for arco. never sounded better.

Very nice! (the blonde one too!)
Does it use a Fishman Full Circle?
    Is it short scale?

The blonde seems 3/4 scale, and uses two Bass Max pickups?

    Thanks!

no worries - it's always good to see real world shots of basses, instead of perfect lighting, perfect finish, perfect wood, manufacturer photos.

Bob - that second one is one of the classiest looking EUB's I have seen to date.

  20. But hey, I have the necks bolted on(yes, I said bolted on)& bodies & tops nearly complete. We have a new camera coming, too- so soon you'll all be saying, "I could do better..."
    -about me this time! ;)
