Today there was a post about "less is more" and Pino's name came up. It got me thinking about how he USED to play fretless with such inspiration and originality. It made me break out my 1995 SR5 fretless, clean it up and put on a new set of strings. I played it for at least an hour. I had forgotten just how much fun this bass is to play.

Here's four. These are the ones I usually gig with. Also got a fretless L-2 (used to be my main) and a fretless Squier Jazz bass.

Something old, something new. There's an East preamp under the hood.

    Carvin Icon 4 Fretless.
First fretless I've really liked. It's awesome.
Previously tough competition from an American Standard Fretless Jazz and a Peavey T20FL; The Fender had spectacular tone from the CS pickups, and the Peavey was just a great feeling/playing bass. Vastly different otherwise.
Others I've had just didn't come close: MIM fretless Jazz, Squier VM fretless Jazz, etc.

What do you mean "USE to play"? This isn't blazing fast, but if it's not inspired and original, I don't know what is!
