    hey jeff,
what is all of the stuff in your rack? just curious.
  7. I leave a space above pieces that may generate a lot of heat:

    Furman power conditioner/tuner
    FMR RNC compressor
    Kern preamp
    Crown K2 amp

    Furman power conditioner
    Soldano X99 preamp
    Soldano SLO-100 head
    Palmer PGA-04 speaker simulator

I do too. But my Pre is top vented and the power amp is rear vented. I leave the space over the preamp. Are pre's prone to overheat?

I usually use 2-3 basses during a set: Sadowsky 5, a fretless (Fender JP Relic fretless, Sadowsky or Zon fretless) and either a 6 or a 4 string. All have different outputs. The Raven allows me to send a consistent output level to the preamp. I love it. Plus, all bass can stay plugged in and all I have to do is turn up the volume knob and I'm ready to go.

That would make life a lot easier.

I usually switch to a different bass each set, and even then, it can be a pain in the butt adjusting your amp to suit the new bass. (espcially if you are going from active to passive or vice versa)

that raven labs mixer is #1 on my list of stuff to get next. especially because my IOD doesn't have a pre-gain control, so sometimes i'll clip the preamp circuit because the warwick's output is so hot. and the output of my warwick and my musicman are way different.

and because i don't have time to unplug and adjust different basses between songs, i use the same bass for the whole show - which i don't want to do.

    my rack has:
    SWR interstellar overdrive
    sabine 1100 tuner
    bellari la120 compressor
    and a carvin DCM1000

i was gonna get an 8 space and get a powerconditioner, rack tuner, and put some spaces in between my IOD and the rest of it's stuff, but maybe a 6 space with just a powerconditioner will do, because i think i can squeeze the mdb-1 between the tuner and the compressor on a rack shelf.

    Right now its bass->SansAmp->SF-2->F-2B
and bass->SF-2->F-2B (using the parallel out of the BDDI).

I might have to rearrange things and see if I can squeeze the SansAmp on the bottom space like you did, Jeff!

That's one of the things I really appreciate about the Raven Labs mixer - I can change basses in a few seconds. I really enjoy being able to choose the bass I think is right for the song.

  19. Here's my little dub machine...

Geshel, what cabs are you using with your SF-2? I've forgotten. Sure do need a Super Filter for my dub I bet. Want one real bad....
