I find a lot of my favorite basses resemble SGs. I love pretty much every SG bass, ESPECIALLY those in Mahogany red. They don't have to be EBs, just show off your SG style basses!

On the right, we have my 1972 Gibson SB 300. Better pics will be forthcoming once I can afford a half decent short lens for my camera.

    Here's a '72 EB-3...
    72EB-30001.

    and a reissue
    guitars279.

To be honest, the Reissue was a disappointment because it looks like it has a "Mudbucker" but it definately is not. It can't touch the depth and fullness of tone that the '72 can produce.

bump. Come on, i want to see some non-gibson sgs! Like esps and schecters! I know you guys are out there!

  7. I'll be honest, keeping the GIbsons coming will be fine too. That 72 is going to haunt my dreams tonight, and that gray and black reish has been for months already. My crappy Epi eb-0 won't cut it here. These are the only short scales I have ever wanted, but it's some powerful GAS. Main, I'd be more than happy to take that GIbby and unburden you from such a dissapointing bass.

I saw an SG reissue the other day that was all natural, lookedl ike maybe quilted maple? Dunno, but it was dead sexy. Any out there?

  8. That SG you saw was a limited SG Supreme limted Gibson made a year or so back:

I love my SG bass.. Its a Gibson, not sure what year, probably 02 or 05.. the only one I've seen with an ebonyboard.. which feels amazing, its lovely to play.. sounds better with flats, really woody.

heres a few of the EB0s that i've owned

    1962-EB0-cherry-1s.

1962 EB0 - great bass - definately going to hang on to this one. Nice fat neck

    1969-EB0-cherry-1s.

    1969 EB0 - sold this one - wasn't bad at all

    1970-EB0-cherry-1s.

1970 EB0 sold this one too. Such a fantastic muddy sound. Loved this one

    1972-EBO-walnut-1s.
Another great one. Despite the neck being maple, and the pickup being situated further back, it just oozed mud

Epiphone EBO... got it cheap, I added 2 additional pickups, made it string through, and painted the thing...

Oh... And I am a band teacher ... I play it with my HS pep band... MAscot is the Viking, colors are green & gold...

It's nice to see a 1969 EB0. I had one, and sold it to a friend, who played it in his band. It eventually was played on their album. I paid $349.00 for it in 1970, without a case.
