Show Your... Wooden Bridges

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by deathbloomslife, Jul 24, 2005.

  1. I was just browsing a few basses on Google, and saw one with a wooden bridge... Needless to say, I think that they are one of the most "custom" touches anyone could put on a bass.

So... anyone here have any wooden bridges???

It's not mine, but I really like the Ebony bridge of Alain Caron's signature 6 string fretless bass.

I had to trade it in.

It was quite a pain to bring to gigs.

Sure. It's a CB bass (Cliff Bordwell) & the bridge is made of bubinga and mahogany with mahogany saddles.

    Killer bass!

I'm sure there are a few luthiers that can help you out in your quest for a wooden bridge. Of course the price would depend on what you're looking into having done.

Chris Stambaugh of Stambaugh Designs might be able to help.

Cliff Bordwell from cb basses may be able to help you as well. Cliff is a member here at TB. I'm sure if you PM'd him, he could point you in the right direction.

    Good luck.

Hey, that's my old bass! It was sad to see that one go. Semi-hollow afzelia body, crazy maple top, and a snakewood fingerboard. That's a really special bass. No idea where it is now.

fantastic basses, neevr knew that wooden bridges existed apart from on acoustic gu***rs. they must add a helluva lot of resonance to the sound...
