Because Photobucket has chosen to in effect "take down" everyone's photos (unless you pay them), we have extended post edit time in the Luthier's Corner to UNLIMITED.  If you used photobucket and happen to still have your images of builds, you can go back and fix as many of your posts as far back as you wish.

Shuker Wood Info....

  1. Kind of a continuation of my other thread in the Basses section but I feel this is a more appropriate place..

    Can you help me Identify some of these woods that Jon Shuker has sent me pictures off... I want a Burl Maple front but he hasnt got any large enuff at the moment which is a shame

    He sent me a picture of some Madrone..which i kinda of like and then some more Maple woods...

    Now I know the first it Spalated Maple...but what about the others...

    I want something kinda red brown that will complement the Flamed Maple and Imbuya burl back...but also the Birdseye Maple Fingerboard..

    No. 3 myrtle burl?? or some other form of maple

    No. 4 redwood burl??

    I really have no idea, just a guess

    are we sure the last isnt maple burl... wet? the dry part doesnt look red enough to be redwood.
