I was reading a recent interview with the bass player for John Mayer (STOP LAUGHING!) :D

Not a fan of JMs music, but I really liked the tone his bass player had. In the interview he says he just uses a J bass with an SIB Fatdrive. Does anyone else have experience with these? Considering purchasing one if it gives me a similar tone.

Ahhh, do I have a reputation or something?

    Anyho.

Yes, the Fatdrive is cool. Will give you a nice tubey sound, helpful if you're going DI to a board without an amp.

I'm not sure it'll give you his tone though, it's more of a subtle tone shaper.

If you search on 'fatdrive', you'll find lots of discussion on this pedal across all forums.
