question, i have a warwick streamer stage 1 (1998) with basslines soapbars and whatever preamp it came with (mec?). after about 15 mins. of playing the signal drops by about half. it has done this with 3 different amps, and only does it in active mode. it starts to caome back in and fade out. what could it be. the batteries are new. i'm about to put a bartolini pre amp in it. thanks for the help.

Can't really come from the pickups and as you mentionned that batteries were new, I'd guess this is "just" coming from the MEC preamp :(

Not such a bad sounding preamp but if you do a search through the pickups forum you'll find that many TBers have encoutered problems with it.

Putting a bart pre in it?? I would consider a E-Pro preamp (2band BTB-01 or 3band U-retro) . IMO they are the best ou there!

    Peace, JP
