Silver or Gold MEC Logo on Warwick Pickups

    Ive seen a cheap " New " post 2010 Rockbass , the one with the Ash Body 2 Piece Bridge and W Logo etc , it has the Gold MEC Logo on the pickups , the earlier ones were Silver , is there any difference that you are aware of or just cosmetic ? . The reason is I had a German Corvette and didnt really like the tone , it had the Silver logo pickups. I heard somewhere they are the same build but the Gold ones sound " better " , whatever that means lol . Thanks for any opinions

    If I remember right, silver MEC pickups are passive, and gold MEC pickups are active.

    Edit: the website seems to confirm that and contradicts what Musiclogic posted below.

    Mine are silver, and are passive.
