I play all different kinds of styles on a 5 string. Love a great slap tone and I do a lot of tremolos and bending. I usually get Boomers because everyone stocks them, but they burn out so quickly and when bending require a lot of effort even when my bass is set up right on. Any recommendations on strings I should try? Gauge? brand? life? tone? Thanks guys -Dan

  2. DR Hi-Beams. Good tone, last and very easy to play/bend due to the round core.

check out dean markley nickel steel - great for bending, or ken smith burners.

I've heard those are good. I said this in another thread, but your banana picture makes me insecure.

  5. now I'm starting to feel insecure :bag:

You should still try the Hi-Beams or Fat-Beams if you want more punch. Blue Steels are nice too. :bassist:
