Simple Ampeg V4 B question...

  1. I have a simple question for the Ampeg V4 B (SLM) owners: is it possible to take the signal from the 'preamp out', lead it to - let's say - an SWR IOD and lead it back to the Ampeg, using the 'poweramp in'?

The preamp's output might be too hot for the IOD's input.

Why would you want to do this anyway?

Just use the IOD in front of the Ampeg.
  4. Well, BillyB, it was just an idea...

My V4 B is too clean for my taste and I would like to ad a little 'dirt' to it's sound. But maybe it is better to use the IOD in front, like monkfill suggests.

Another option is to buy a B5 R instead of the IOD. I guess it's always a good thing to have two amps... :D . What do you guys think of the B5 R? Soundwise I mean... How does it sound for a solid state amp?
