    (sorry for my english)

here is a simple but yet effective modification that i made for my both jazz basses.

it is simply rebolting the strap button a little bit upper part of the body.. so that the bass will not fall to the ground when you rest the bass off to a wall etc.

    here is a picture:

you can simply put a pickguard screw to the old hole.

Or wood putty if you want something more permanent.

The problem with this is that your basses physical balance might be off when you play with a strap.

what about the fact that it takes more effort to do this, then to buy a 15 dollar stand that you could have the rest of your life to protect you bass from falling. I guess most of us have our priorities misplaced in thinking we don't an extra useless hole in our basses. :meh:

    Thank you.

Of course i always use a stand whenever it is available.

I thought using a stand is a very common and known practise among musicians so i didnt bother to mention to use a stand.. i was wrong..

and of course i didnt mean to you to bass players to use it everytime instead of a stand when it is available.

(my english is weak if i couldnt make myself clear i am sorry)

Your english is better than my (any other language in the world here).

Not something I'd want to do to my bass, but more power to you for the innovation!
