Simple Question - Are all Fender "Active" 5 Basses made in Mexico?

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Slaine01, Nov 13, 2005.

  1. Can't seem to get an answer from Fender on this one!!!
  2. The MIM are made in mexico. The American Deluxe basses, all active, are made in the states. The Jazz 24 is also active and made in Korea.
  3. Thanks,
    So to re-itterate.
No other country, but Mexico, makes the Fender 5 String Jazz model known as the "Active" range.
  4. Does it matter that much where its made?

just check out a few of them, use your own quality control :)
  5. The reason I am asking is that someone here tried to sell me one at a bigger price saying that it is made in the USA

There are active 5 string Fenders made in the US and in Mexico. There is no "Active" line. The MIM ones are known as Deluxes Jazzes. The MIA are known as American Deluxe Jazzes. Pretty easy. Ask for the serial number, or a shot of the headstock, where it should say where it is made.
  7. Thanks :)
