You looking for a job as a mod or what? It was joke, a pun, an inuendo that the admins are on the "right". Loosen up dude.
What I wonder is if we can make a thread and sort of steer it towards different types of ads based on clever wordings and subject matter. Like if I wanted to see ads about carrots and just suddenly started carrots every other carrots with carrots.
you can - the ads try to "intelligently" pick appropriate ad material that might be relevant to the topic in the thread. here's something that will really make you popular with the admins/mods - deliberately lace your posts with particular words that might bring up inappropriate ads. and then make a stink about the ads. i personally would be really amused by this. of course, i'd also probably ban someone who tried it, but still.
I don't know why but this really made me laugh... I'm still giggling as I type this. Very SNL "Deep Thoughts."
No, the door is either open or closed. We tried this for about 3 hours on our knife and gun forum and decided to get rid of it. We put a "hot thread" banner up in it's place. No revenue but certainly more useful.
No, I actually had not read that until you posted it. But it makes sense with of the Chubby Gay Dating ads we were getting.
i think we block ads (like porn) but i'm not sure that all the potentially inappropriate ads (like porn) have been covered. besides the folks that buy the ads for stuff (like porn) that is questionable probably use certain loopholes ( ) to try and get around filters that block such inappropriate content (like porn).
oh, and not to quote mysef here, but if anyone does see any inappropriate ads (like porn) please, send me a private message, so that i can block em (after making sure they were in fact inappropriate (like porn) ).
I think we're safe jt. After all, these banner ad programs will see posts like this and assume that they are really about how much you "like porn". If they aren't generating disgusting banner ads, I don't think anything will.
