single/dual coil hum question

i am wantng to upgrade pickups in my lakland
here is what i would like to do: have a single coil at the bridge and have a dual coil at the neck position. installing them this way would it get rid of the 60cycle hum asociated with single coil pickups? i would be using an active tone circuit with a blend control. any info would be great,thanks!
