single rack space...what would you get?

I have a 6-space rack that has one space empty. What is available out there that you'd stick in there. Nothing to break the bank, but something more worthwhile than a power conditioner...

I always wanted to get an OD (but not necessarily a fuzz). I'm not much of an "effects" guy as I've been plugging straight from a bass to an amp since I started in '93. Never had any effects for bass.

I'm also not up & current with what's available in a 1U config.

I know this sounds vague, but I'm just looking for ideas and opinions.

The other 5U's are taken up by an SVT2-Pro and a 1U rack tuner.

Sansamp RBI/RPM or Aguilar Agro will cover your overdrive needs nicely.
  6. How about a TC Electronics G Sharp effects processor? They're really good value and all of the effects are very convincing.

For overdrive definitely go for a sansamp unit. If your going to get a compressor go for a DBX160A or X...very good units, 1 rack space, one channel.

with a rackmounted all tube, i'd go for a rack fan.

+1 to this i have both units (RBI-RPM) and can't imagine playing without them

"I always wanted to get an OD"

but seeing as you already have an SVT-2-Pro (which the RBI and RPM are emulators based around the Ampeg Sound) I would go after the Aguilar Agro very nice rackmountable OD/Distortion unit!

Without getting into specifics, there are plenty of:
    wireless units
    effects processors
that would all fit nicely in one space. You just have to decide which of those would make the best use of your one space.

IMO if you are happy with your sound you really dont need to fill it up with something that is just...... filling the space...
anyspace left in my rack unit is covered with matt black chequer plate looks unreal and fills the space..... there are some amazing products but if you are happy with what you have why bother.......pretty much anything that will add to the quality that you already have is not going to be cheap.....

    ...I don't get it...a lesson won't fit in a 1U space will it?

I'm going to seriously think about that Argo...gotta go try one out.

    thanks for the tips.

yeah, I am pretty happy with my sound. I'm not much into delay's, chorus or flanger sounds....just maybe some serious ballsy OD.

You might want to think about the Aguilar Agro. it even comes with a footswitch if you want.

Yes, I'm plugging myself here, but it's really one of my favorite distortion tones ever. Super versatile.

Single space rack plate with ventilation holes. It'll really clean up the look.
