sinking pickups?

    i have a new fender special edition jazz bass (24 frets), and the neck pickup keeps sinking, and it doesn't come back up... any way to fix this without repalcing it?

    Install a piece of foam underneath the pickup.
    You may need experiment with the thickness &/or firmness of the foam.

    If you're like me, I want those pickups solid.

    You can also replace the springs around the pickup screws with thin shrink tubing.

    Cut up pieces of an old computer mouse pad is pretty ideal for this. Usually 2 or 3 under the pu.

    Any hardeware store will sell black,dense foam weatherstripping that is similar to mousepad foam. It is sticky on one side and comes in 1/2" and 5/8" widths. This works well on a Jazz. :cool:
