Has anybody seen the commercial for women's Lee pants with the song Sir Duke playing? It's not the original recording, it's a woman singing it, but the bass tone is nothing short of amazing. Sounds like a jazz bass with tons of growl. I hope at least someone has seen it. It's almost like it's THE tone I've been searching for, but I can't really do much about it. :meh:

  6. I was surprised to so easily find this question being asked by others as I logged on talkbass today specifically to find out what the player in that commercial is using.
That tone slapped me to attention!

Wow, that is a great tone. Does anyone else think that snare is awesome...Man I love it.
  10. Did a bit of Googling. No answer on the bass player question yet, but I discovered that the vocalist is someone named Kirsten Price. Also found out that the Lee Jeans website allows you to download the entire song here (see the MP3 link at the bottom).

The MP3 is very worthwhile -- some great playing!

I have a Stevie question: There is a recent pop song that samples Superstition... anyone know what it is? It's a girl fronted pop group (solo act)

Is the link to the Lee pants artist.
4 more song downloads and a link to the Sir Duke commercial.
No info on the band whatsoever.

Nice women and pants, too. Just in case we lost sight of the OTHER important elements in life! Heh heh.

Ah glad to know instrumentalists are so appreciated...

Now that I listen to it more it actually sounds like it could be a PJ pickup config. It's got a hint of Wooten fingerstyle tone.
