Thought about getting a set of TI's flatwound for the 32"scale modified Tele. They are little pricey? I have some medium scale Ernie Ball Slinkys roundwounds on there now.

I have TI flats on my P bass and I think I've finally ended my search for the right set of flats for me. They are very low tension, though, and medium scale might be worse.
They are expensive. I bought mine gently used from another TBer, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy a set at full price. Though who knows when that will be? Some posters claim several years with the same set of TIs.

Yes, Alperious is a really good company for custom work. I remember when he was just starting out he actually got some big name musicians to make pickguards for them. I've heard nothing but praises for his craftsmanship and detail on the pickguards.

Does anyone own a Sire V3P and a V5R? How do they compare in build quality and tone? Main differences seem to be mahogany on the V3 vs alder on the V5, V5 has 70s bridge pickup position and the V3 looks like it has ceramic pickups as opposed to alnico on the V5. I assume the V3 has more mids because of the wood and is a little more aggressive because of the pickups?

I was under the impression they were D'Addario strings...not 100% sure though.
I was told by Thomann they switched from the previous D'Addario strings to Ernie Balls as factory default some years ago, my V7 Vintage 4 string from late 2020 already had EBs (I guess Hybrid Slinkies, at least comparable gauges).

Wow, what happened to the prices of Sire MM V7s? Been a while since visited - Is it just the 2nd gen that is going for near 1k now? What is a fair price for a used 1st Gen V7?
V's Ive seen for sale are usually at $400 for a V5 and around $600-700 for a 7.
I'm contemplating selling a M7 5 string and probably would place it at around $600-700 as well.
Personally I wouldnt ask for more than $350 for my V5 4 string, if I was to sell it.
I think they loose more value the more the MSRP was.
Whooo, took me a while to figure out what is going on in that graphic!
I put Gotoh GB350s on my P7 5 string a while back. I had to drill one new hole per tuner, but that was the only modification I had to make. The key is you have to use the existing bushings. I also changed the bridge to a lightweight Gotoh and dropped about a pound in overall weight.

I bought a V3P five string. Comparing to the V5 I had, quite a bit lighter in weight. Was extremely neck heavy. Put a set of Gotoh's on it, still neck heavy so I changed out the plastic knobs for some dome knobs and put a set of schaller strap locks on it. Cured neck dive and weighs in at 8.25 lbs. Neck set up nice with one fret under the G string that needed leveling. Action is low. Pickups sound good, the V5 has more of a vintage tone. V5 was 10.2 lbs. and even with the gotoh's was still close to 10. Got spoiled with my P5 as it is under 9 lbs with gotoh's. Sold the V5 and I think V3 will be staying for awhile.
