I played a 4-string V3 at a GC. It really played and sounded great. If it had been a 5-string I would have left with it. I have a 4 string jazz already. Pretty impressive.

I've bought three new Sires and each one was exemplary workmanship out of the box. Comparing a $500 Sire to a $2500 Bongo bass is apples and oranges.
I do feel like my 2 Sire's have replaced my USA sterling 5. In fact I sold it. 20 years of playing musicman.
The only direct drop in replacement bridge for Sires that I am aware of is made by AlBridge. Pretty much anything else will require drilling new holes.
You don't think hoping to replace a Bongo with a M5 is aiming a bit high?
My apologies, but I would personally expect a Bongo to be a better instrument than my M7.
No feathers ruffled on me. I used to have a US made Ernie Ball L-2500 and loved it but after playing a Tribute L-2500 which I probably shouldn't have done in retrospect
, I realized there wasn't a $1500 difference between the two basses...I sold the US made one for almost what I paid for it and bought the Tribute model for a quarter of the price of a US made model and bought some other basses I'd been looking at and came out even. Kaching! 
The Hipshot A-style bridge (model: 5A500.705 AC) has been a direct replacement for my 5-string P5, which is strung through the bridge. No need to drill additional holes in the body, as the existing string holes are used to tie the bridge on with SS bolts and nuts (I drilled 2 additional holes in the bridge, that was not even needed as 3 bolts seem to suffice).
This bass has now been strung with LaBella LTF's instead of Chromes on the picture, users are warned there is a risk of breakage if strung through the body (due to the sharper bend angle).

1) How noisy or silent are the passive Sire jazz single coils and electronics? I think it uses the same pickups as the other Sire jazz basses. How bad is the single coil hum?
2) can you take off the pickguard with seeing holes and cables? I think it might look nicer without it.
3) are the highest frets easily reachable (because of the heel)?

I don't think I'll upgrade anything on the V3P. I often upgrade pickups, especially if they are cheaper ceramic ones, but these seem pretty good even though they are ceramic. They have a bit more bite than my basses with alnico pickups which are warmer but probably won't cut through a mix as well as these ceramics will.
I've owned a few Sire V7 and Vintage V7 basses which were great but I didn't like the preamp. It's very versatile but I prefer passive and often played them in passive mode. I've never really liked the shape of the headstock on Sire basses but the one on the V3P is painted sonic blue to match the body which looks really good.

I got the tort pickguard from Thomann but I had to file it down a bit near the bass of the neck to get it to fit (about 1.5mm maybe).

I've been playing the V3P for a while so swapped to my Fender classic 70s series Jazz bass which has Lindy Fralin pickups. Surprisingly the Fender sounded a bit dull in comparison. The strings are newer on the V3P (same make and model) but not completely new as I had them on another bass. The bass notes also sounded more punchy on the V3P. The fender is alder with alnico pickups. V3P mahogany with ceramic pickups.
I finally found the Marcus Mille bass we have at work. Sorry for blurring a few things out, just some personal info that isn't mine to give out.
