I happened upon this song band flipping thru channels on a sattelite radios' "Reggae" station. I personally, had'nt heard the genre of reggae that sounded like this. Granted, I have not heard much that sounded like this. I dug it. The bass was great, drumming was good and was wonder if anyone familiar with this band had any recomendations that sounded like this style, Bands or albums. It'd be great to find some more to listen to.
Not having heard of Sister Carol, I checked out the band at Amazon.com. The CD "Isis: The Original Womb-Man" had five sound bytes, so I listened. I'm such a fan of Steel Pulse that it is hard for me just to immediately like another reggae band. But I appreciated your heads up, because I am always hoping to find a group I like as much as Steel Pulse (when I'm in a mood for reggae.) Having read commentary at Amazon, it appears that Sister Carol is a woman. Though that would seem obvious from the name, my computer sound must be really bad, because I actually thought the singer was male! My bad. Anyway, those who wrote comments praise Sister Carol for her feminist lyrics and her peaceful outlook on life as reflected in her lyrics.
