SIT Powerflats, they're semi-flat, not ground wound or pure flat, and retain some of the brightness of SIT nickelrounds...

2 5 string sets, new and unopened .125-.045, $19 per set, retail ~$25 when you can find them...
    1 4 string set, unopened, .100-.045 $14, retail $16
    1 4 string set, on my G&L for 5 minutes $12

Shipping's on you. Willing to trade for LaBella Flat 760's or Lakland Flats, or maybe other full on flats...

I'm looking to re-string my L-2500 Tribute that I bought from Jome77. ( I'm loving it! )I use Rotosound SB66's on my MIM Jazz and like the sound. How would the SIT's sound on the tribby?

    Bassmonkey: pm backatcha.

Megiddo: I think they sound good on a G&L. I had a set on mine for a while. Nickelrounds, in general retain a lot of the characteristics of steelrounds, without the "harsh high end zing." These powerflats are not true flats, and not ground rounds, but what SIT decribe as "semi fflats made to pro spec in our custom shop. Semi-Flat pure nickel wound long scale. Flatter than half flat, but not quite as flat as a pure flatwound. Smooth to the touch, but still good intonation. Great for use with fretless basses."
To my ear, they retain much of the sound of nickel rounds, with a little less highs, and more solid fundamental. Hope that makes sense?
