So, I see there is a short scale 6 string club. Maybe we should have a "normal" Six String Bass Club? I have a Roscoe Century Standard Plus 6 string with Bartolini jazz pups and preamp. Swamp ash body, maple neck, wenge board and black hardware. It's in my avatar picture with my Roscoe 5 string. This bass was made for me by the guys at Roscoe. I picked it up at the shop and used it the next day for a lesson with Jimmy Hayslip.

I use it mostly at church. Plays great and sounds amazing. It's the best "4 string jazz" bass I have played. Roscoe 6 string necks are so comfy and playable.

My 6-string bass has a 35" scale length, is that "normal"?

    Anyway.Here's mine.
    A Tune TWB63WN fretless.

I defretted an ovangkol TWB in 2010.
    And it was lined.
I bought this walnut TWB in 2013 and switched necks.
I recently had the lined fingerboard removed and an unlined macassar ebony fingerboard applied.

Disclosure: I am not a great bass player
What are the odds? There are now at least four Ken Smith 6-string Tiger basses listed in the classifieds.

I need to make time to practice my 6 more often. I'm spending all my time learning songs (on my 5) for the new cover band. I wonder why I keep my 6 around, and then I see a video/article like this:

I need to practice. But at the same time, there are no "jazz" gigs around here that require that kind of playing, and for sure no venues or money to be made. Although, if I were playing with killer musicians, I'd play for very little money to get the chance to work on and play this style of music again.
