Ska Bass Lines

Discussion in 'Miscellaneous [BG]' started by JoBo-86, Feb 8, 2004.

  1. IMO ska has some of the best basslines there are. What are some ska songs with good basslines?
  2. Well since Ska is a massive chasm encompassing many different eras, new-skool ones like RX Bandits and Mighty Mighty Bosstones are fun. You can also check out Potshot, a Japanese ska-punk band, with some really good lines.

    Any Five Iron Frenzy song
MMB: The Impression That I Get
RX Bandits: Who Would Have Thought or Consequential Apathy

    Have fun.

    By "good" you mean catchy:

Most of Slapstick's catalogue.(First song that comes to mind:"Metalhead in the Parking lot")
A good deal of LTJ's middle period
    The Pilfers ("Agua", "Mr. Exploita")
    The Chinkees ("Asian Prodigy")
    The Skalars.

The list goes on and on. Ska is a lesson is dancibility.

    Laurel Aitken
    The New York Ska-Jazz Ensemble
    The Pietasters
    Jeffrey's Fan Club
