Time has come where I have to move my number one for the last ten years. My Skjold CS 5. What can I say?

The necks is fabulous, playability is outstanding and build quality is impeccable. This configuration is ash body wood with Burl maple top, three piece maple neck and Pau Ferro board. The pickups are dual coil neo with coil taps for series, parallel and single coil for each pickup. It has the Skjold deluxe preamp with master vol, blend, tone control with active/passive, bass, mid and treble. Treble pot pulls up for ultra high boost. Mids have concentric knob so you can select frequency you want to boost or cut. 35” scale and I believe less than 8.5lbs.

I am the original owner. I had Pete build it. Tom Bowlus was at his shop and the three of us picked the top wood out. It was a $1000 up charge for that top. Pete said this would be equivalent to the exotic series today and would be about $6000 to build with the top.

How does it sound? With everything set flat it is a woody organic tone that leans towards modern. It is not as hi-fi sounding as an MTD set flat, but it you pull the ultra high boost up or add some highs you are right there. It excels at finger tone and cutting through the mix with no eq, but can be eq’d to taste.

Bass is 9+/10 condition and is virtually flawless sans some normal swirling from playing. I am open to trades with cash my way and could add cash for the right bass. Only thing I am really looking for is a Fender custom shop p bass or Olinto p bass but might consider Bergantino cabs/amps,
Baer cabs or a Reiner Saturn amp. Run other trades by me, I am not easily offended and if not interested I will politely say no. Trade value $3500, cash $3100 shipped to lower 48.

They are the dual coil neo. Not sure who Pete’s supplier was at the time.

Last bump before a long standing trade offer with one of our TB brethren comes to fruition.
